Homemade, hand painted and personalized items
My name is Kristie. I'm a wife, mother and grandmother with a dog and 2 cats. I was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. When I was younger I enjoyed making items to sell at craft shows and craft fairs throughout the Syracuse area. Life changed and that became part of my distant past. In 2008 I relocated to SWFL. In 2009-2010 I decided to start selling some of my hand painted birdhouses at a shop I worked at on Captiva Island. A couple years later I quit my FT job to open a shop at Fleamasters Fleamarket in Fort Myers. Life had taken me in a different direction again the following year. I stopped creating and painting altogether. in 2017 I picked up the paint brush again. It was then that I realized how much I enjoyed it and missed it. Fast forward...
In 2020 (while still working FT) I started purchasing things little by little, as I could afford to. I finally own a good quality color printer, a top of the line heat press with multiple attachments, a great multi-material cutting machine, a mug press, a mini press, a large hand press, tools, materials, blanks and tons of supplies. This is where I realized that I still had to figure out how all of it works! Oh, my anxiety...and tears. LOL At first it was very difficult to find the time to teach myself how to use it all. Trying to balance working FT and learn so much at once had become extremely overwhelming, but I did it! My Etsy Shop is open and I have even made some sales.
Unfortunately, I was forced to close my Etsy shop because we were destroyed by Hurricane Ian on September 28, 2022. It was one of the worst experiences of our lives. Many lives were lost. For the rest of us, our lives will forever remain changed. The amount of sadness our entire area felt was absolutely heartbreaking. Our house was half gutted for a year. Many are still recovering. We are fortunate to have our home back together. In December 2024 I was finally able to reopen my Etsy Shop. Creating things is therapeutic and healing to me. It is now January 11, 2025... I am so happy to be creating and selling again! :)
The name of my Etsy shop is actually a line of lyrics in one of my all-time favorite songs; Tired by Matchbox Twenty.
